ZenAM 2025: Calm, Connection and a Cause That Matters

· Wellbeing,Charity of the year,Lifestyle

This year’s ZenAM was held in support of ADHD UK, our 2025 charity of the year. From the moment guests stepped into the beautiful tipi venue nestled in the heart of Cheshire, there was a sense of tranquility. A gentle breeze, calming scents and warm smiles set the scene for what was to come – a few precious hours carved out of busy lives to relax, reset and give back.

The aim of ZenAM is simple: bring people together for a morning of welbeing, while raising both awareness and funds for a deserving cause.

Taking time out for some moments of quiet reflection is more important than ever. Research suggests that anxiety levels are at an all-time high and figures from the Office for National Statistics show a worsening long-term picture.

Making it matter

Supporting ADHD UK, and acting as ambassadors for the charity, is a cause close to home for us. The charity aims to help those with ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder) as well as the people close to them – from family and friends to colleagues and employers – by reduction of harmful stigma, cultivation of awareness and funding of key research.

Henry Shelford, CEO of ADHD UK said: “The message of self-care and taking some time to recharge applies to everyone, so this is a lovely way to support our charity. We’re very grateful for the funds which ZenAM has raised to further our work providing advocacy and awareness of ADHD, which affects over 2.6 million people in the UK.”

Getting Zen

The event began with the gentle rhythm of yoga, led by Angela from Genius Yoga, who brought her signature blend of mindfulness, breathwork and emotional awareness to the mat. Her voice, soft and grounding, guided the room through stretches and stillness, with a yoga session suitable for all levels of experience.

Next came the crystal bowl sound bath from Sound Sanctuary, where waves of healing sound washed over guests, dissolving tension and centring the mind. For many, this was a first-time experience, and a powerful one. As the vibrations echoed through the tipi, guests lay eyes closed and shoulders softened. It was a moment of collective stillness, with the wind on the tipi blending into the sounds..

Healing hands

The morning continued with a fascinating and interactive session from Reflexology with Elaine. Sharing her philosophy of promoting healing from within, reflexologist and reiki pratcitioner Elaine began with a brief introduction to the history and benefits of reflexology. She then invited a willing guest for a live demonstration, explaining how specific pressure points on the feet can support issues like stress, anxiety, menopause, fertility and sleep.

Elaine said: “It was a brilliant day! I did a practical demonstration of technical reflexology with one volunteer and some simple hand reflexology for all the guests – they found it fascinating. Reflexology is great for supporting wellbeing and reducing stress and that’s what ZenAM is all about.”

The guests, of all ages, included individuals and groups, men and women, friends and family – with three sisters from Cheshire attending together. There was also a visit from ADHD UK advocate the UK's National Junior Miss Cheshire, Savannah Henshaw, aged 14 from Warrington, who is helping to raise awareness of ADHD and the impact it can have on young people’s lives.

One returning guest said: “ZenAM has such a peaceful energy. I always learn something new and leave feeling calmer, more focused and more connected.”
